Bintray Sunset - gatling-sbt-plugin

Hello, team.

Hope you are well.

We are using gatling-sbt plugin in our projects. I understand Bintray is deprecating their services https://bintray.com/gatling/sbt-plugins/gatling-sbt/view. I suppose the gatling-sbt-plugin is resolved from bintray.

If so, would this change how we resolve the gatling-sbt plugin in our repositories in the future? i.e would we need to add any additional resolvers for the gatling-sbt-plugin?

Eswar

Hello,

Already taken care of (yesterday), we just haven’t made the official announcement yet (busy + no hurries, deadline is May, 1st).

New releases are hosted on maven central: https://search.maven.org/artifact/io.gatling/gatling-sbt

Regards,

Thanks, Stéphane for taking the time to respond. Appreciate the team is busy and there is still time for the deadline.

The reason I ask is we have a good number of repositories still using older versions of the plugin. We have just started looking at migrating to the 3.2.1 version of the plugin and the 3.4.2 version of Gatling. So trying to assess the impact. Would you know if there are plans to make the older versions also available on Maven Central?

Eswar

No, I don’t think we won’t.

Also, please note that 3.4.2 is an old version, you’d better upgrade to 3.5.1 instead.

Thanks, Stéphane. Since 3.5.1 supports only Scala 2.13, we couldn’t update to this version immediately as we are still relying on Scala 2.12.

Apologies, could you please clarify this again. When you say "No, I don’t think we won’t". You mean making the older versions available hasn’t been decided yet or you mean there are no plans to make them available in Maven?

Eswar

There’s no plan to republish old versions on maven central.

The latest version supports old Gatling versions as well and there’s plenty of time for users to upgrade.

Thank, Stéphane. This information is quite useful. Thanks for taking time to respond.
