Gatling Frontline Upgrade

Hello Everyone,
Maybe it’s a subject which have been already discussed in a topic but i didn’t found it yet.
I’ve been assigned to perform the upgrade of our Gatling instance.
We are on the 3.9.5 (with Frontline) with the license Enterprise and i’m trying to upgrade it to the version 3.10 (at least) or to the 3.11.
But I didn’t find anything on the upgrade process…if there’s anybody who can help me about that, that could be great

Hello,

The version of Gatling your tests are using is not defined in your Gatling Enterprise set up. It’s defined in the test sources themselves => maven, gradle or sbt project configurations.

Gatling upgrade guides: Gatling upgrade guides

Beware that you can only upgrade your Gatling version up to the maximum version supported by your Gatling Enterprise version, see What's New in Gatling Enterprise Self-Hosted

The latest Gatling version is 3.13.1.
The latest Gatling Enterprise legacy version is 1.23.0.

Hello Mr,

So, the versions we use are the following :

  • Gatling Enterprise Legacy : 1.18.7
  • Gatling : 3.9.5

Correct me if i’m wrong : in order to upgrade my gatling instance, i have to upgrade the version called by the tests ?
There’s no “main executable” of gatling that allows to upgrade the instance deployed such as any other software (like Kubernetes, Terraform, etc…) ?

No. The other way around.
First, you must upgrade your Gatling Enterprise instance so that your end users can upgrade their tests. I really recommend upgrading to the latest version.
Then, your end users will be able to upgrade their tests. As a platform admin, that’s not something you can do in their stead.

Gatling Enterprise Legacy 1.18 only supports up to Gatling 3.9, cf release notes.

Ok, thanks…

That’s what i’m trying to do : upgrade Gatling Entreprise Legacy to 1.19 or the latest.
When I check this page - because it’s deployed on Kubernetes) - the link to docker hub leads to nowhere but an error 404.

This repository is not public, it’s not a public free software.
Your organization has a DockerHub account that’s allowed to pull it.

Obviously I can’t communicate it to you. Please check internally in your organization or create a support ticket (see the big support button in the web UI).

I can understand why

Thanks for your help, i’ll check with the team in charge within my organization.
