How to performance test API's using Gatling tool

Hi Experts,

I am new to this tool. I have installed Gatling 2.0.1 and i tried to record one web application. My project requirement is to test API’s using Gatling…Can any one please help me on this tool…what are the supporting plugins we have to install to work with Gatling. I saw in some sites that they are using Eclipse to run the script in scala language.

Please help me on this.
